When the band Silence the City approached us to produce their latest track 'Identity' we knew it was a great opportunity to try some new looks and techniques in post production. Director Jamie McKenzie developed a loose storyline and after some studio based green screen filming and one location shoot at Kingseat on a full moon the team at PURE went to work to develop this video.
Chelsea's Favourite Chocolate Cake
Chelsea is one of New Zealand’s oldest brands. Their brief was for us to develop a series of social videos that would feature traditional baking recipes in an easy to follow manner and that captures the ‘sharing’ moment baking provides families.
In a land led by the dairy industry and cow's milk products we were intrigued when first commissioned by New Zealand start-up Spring Sheep Milk Company to capture their new farm operation in Taupo. The secret to great sheep milk production is to ensure the sheep are happy. This video was one of a series to assist the companies launch into overseas markets.

This commercial was produced for Sign Language Week as part of the 7 Sign in 7 Days campaign. The spot tells the story of a young deaf boy on his first day at a new school. The ad had great cut through and the 7 Sign in 7 Days campaign has proved to be the most successful campaign Deaf Aotearoa have had to date.

Toro are the world leading in lawn maintenance machinery and have a strong relationship with many of the world’s most prestigious golf courses and sporting grounds including St Andrews and Eden Park so the Zero Turn is a consumer mower with strong commercial roots.
With Sealord being one of the largest suppliers of seafood to Kiwis people often see them as doing the wrong thing. Sealord in conjunction with Pure created a video to show that they work hard to do the right thing and are always looking at ways to be more sustainable.
Every 40 seconds someone in the world takes their own life – in New Zealand, many are our young people, especially our Maori and Pasifika youth. This video was an honour for us to produce for the young people preventing suicide by asking you to listen to their plea. Be B.R.A.V.E.

The competitive FMCG sector meant Avalanche Coffee was getting lost on supermarket shelves. So PURE developed a creative approach that provided and high value ad for a fraction of the usual costs.The ad resulted in them selling out of stock across the majority of the supermarkets they stocked.
Discovery Launch 2015
A last minute video was required to produced within a morning to promote the weekend public launch of the new Landrover Discover. PURE took up the challenge starting with the PURE drone capturing sunrise….5 hours later the video was being promoted on Facebook with 10,000 views in hours.
When Unilever contacted us to produce a video about the sustainable pumpkins used in their Continental Soup range we decided it would be a great plan to take one of the organisations in-house chef out to rural New Zealand and find out how the pumpkins are grown and produced and how they are sustainable.
When the band Silence the City told us the story of how the lyrics to their track 'Voices' came about we knew we wanted to capture the message. With the oceans in danger and over fishing rife we contacted Sea Sheppard and they opened their vault of footage to use to be used in any way we saw fit.

With over 15 years of experience, Daryl is our resident cinematographer. His wealth of experience capturing award-winning footage from around the world means he is comfortable in any environment or situation he encounters.
He also works as voice and screen talent for some of New Zealand's largest brands.
Chris Howden is one of New Zealand’s global creative directors with successful tenures in London, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East.
A graduate of the famous Watford College copywriting course, he began his advertising career in London in the 80s. There he worked at BBDO, London. After 6 years in advertising in Europe, Chris was headhunted by Saatchi and Saatchi, New Zealand.
In New Zealand his work had an immediate impact and he won numerous local and international awards for his work on brands like NZPost, BP, Lucozade, Beefeater, Tabasco and Molenberg.
After 13 years in New Zealand with long stints at Colenso and Ogilvy, Chris headed overseas for 10 years working in Malaysia, Dubai and Thailand and Vietnam.
Returning to New Zealand, he helped create the specialist agribusiness agency Tracta, before returning to Auckland to join at NZME as Creative Director.
In 2017 Chris formed his own company Profanity and is our resident creative and copy mastermind.
Nicole makes sure the gears turn behind the machine. From finding locations and booking crews to making sure the coffees hot and the crew’s well fed. Attention to detail and a can do attitude ensures each production goes to plan.
Over the past two
Originally starting out in one of London’s most successful production houses he has gone on to film content in over 60 countries including extreme environments, aerial and underwater filming. He’s written and directed commercials and corporate communications across a mix of sectors and developed PURE to be one of New Zealand's most respected boutique production companies. With an energy for business he has also started and sold a number of businesses within New Zealand. He is a member of the Cinematographers Society of New Zealand, New Zealand Advertising Producers Group and the New Zealand Marketing Association and currently supports Melanoma New Zealand and Hospice.
After several years working in the post-production houses of London's media capital Soho, Richard joined the Pure team in 2010 and is now a partner in the company. His broad range of skills including editing, colour grading, motion graphics and compositing means he adds a dynamic element to every production he works on.
